Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Android users rejoice. Google and Samsung officially announce the long-awaited Galaxy Nexus, the world’s first smartphone to feature the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Equally impressive as its Ice Cream Sandwich OS upgrade is the Galaxy Nexus’ amped up resolution on an HD Super AM-OLED screen display, a 5 megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording capabilities and playback. Buried deep within the 4.65-inch prodigious device, an accelerometer, compass, gyro, proximity sensor and even a barometer are incorporated. The Galaxy Nexus is powered with 1GB of RAM, optional 12 or 32GB of internal storage space and a 1,750mAh battery.
Rivaling the device’s impressive specifications, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to bring about a completely renovated user interface with improved multi-tasking features, notifications, NFC support and a better web browsing experience. Ice Cream Sandwich will also feature a variety of new social media and connectivity software upgrades in conjunction with Google Mobile services. A November release will be seen in the U.S., Europe and Asia while neighboring global markets will see a gradual rollout.
